I love buttons, in fact one might describe me as a buttonaholic, buttonphile or general button-nutter. I cruise charity shops, vintage fairs & even my Nan's drawers (not the one's she's wearing!) in search of the little fasteners. I've been slightly obsessed since I was a child & back then, in the early eighties, my favourite past-time was to sort them, by colour, size, shape or some other bizarre feature.

I'm not ashamed to say, I still do this but now the jars & jars of buttons are put to good use in my crafting. My favourite pieces to make are undoubtedly these jingly, jangly bracelets. You may see other button charm bracelets out there, but none are quite the same as mine!

I choose a feature button or charm to inspire the colourway of the piece & match the buttons in pairs where possible to ensure the jewellery is balanced. Fastened with a silver-plate lobster clasp I add a jingly bell to the other end to finish it off. My customers often comment on the lovely sound my work makes when worn!

This bracelet features a gorgeous silverplate & enamel banana charm & matching yellow buttons & beads. It measures 10 inches in length (this can be altered - give size preference when purchasing) & as with all my pieces comes in a presentation organza bag.

I make custom pieces - any colourways with chain currently available in: silver, gold, black, brown, red, green, turquoise, navy, purple, pink. Please contact me to arrange a commission!

I make jewellery from buttons too & I go to a buttonaholic meeting once a week at my local Stitch 'n' Bitch. I used to work in a haberdashers & we had jars & jars of buttons. While I was there I discovered that there are button phobes as well as button philes & some of them actually had to run out of the shop, others just shuddered, weird. How could you not like buttons?
